
Sensei Daniel Metoxen (11th Dan) has over 40 years of Martial Arts experience, with 25 years experience training in the Bujinkan,training under Dai Shihan 15th Dan, Larry Hembel. Sensei Metoxen began his training at age 6 beginning with boxing in 1981. He also holds two other ranks in American Kenpo Bujutsu Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Training in Aikido and Eskrima. He also was an amateur boxing coach for several years. Sensei Metoxen received his 11th Dan in 2022 in Japan. He has trained in Japan several times and was picked out by SOKE with Sensei Hembel to be ranked up in 2018 by the recommendation of Furuta Sensei. Sensei Metoxen received his Shodan in June 2011 and received 5th Dan in 2016 at Sensei Hembel's recommendation.
Kimberly Metoxen, Assistant Instructor, trained with Dai Shihan 15th Dan, Larry Hembel since 2009. She received her 3rd Degree Sandan in 2022. Trained in Japan in 2012 and 2016. Shodan in 2014 and Nidan in 2016. She has attended several Training Seminars.
A Japanese Martial Arts System with a 1000 year lineage dating back to 15th Century Japan (during the feudal days of Japan) the training, certification, and instruction comes directly from Japan. This is NOT a sport art (MMA). We teach natural movement with practical applications and real life skills when dealing with a confrontation, effective self defense. We teach from 9 different Ryu, 5 Samarai arts, and Ninjutsu combat tactics with affiliation from 34th Grandmaster Hatsumi Masaaki of the Bujinkan.
What is the Bujinkan? It's the (Divine Warrior's Hall) founded in 1970 by 34th SOKE Masaaki Hatsumi
All of the students take Seiza behind the Instructor. They put their hands into gasho and then a specific Kuji. The instructor then states, "Gakoraitosha Akumafudo", which is repeated by the students. The Instructor states, "Chahayafuru kami no oseiwa tokoshieni kokoro mio mamoruran." They all then put their hands together and state, Shikin Haramitsu Daikomyo."
This statement can not be directly translated into English. One interpretation is, A moment of true interaction between the mind and soul may lead to enlightenment." Another is, "May every sound vibration bring me into the light."
All clap twice, bow once, clap once, and bow again. The senior student states, "Sensei ni rei." Students and teacher bow to each other at the same time and state, "Onegaishimasu," which translates to "Please assist me." or "Please teach me."
After training everyone bows and states, "Domo arigato gozaimasu." This translates to "Thank you very much."
